James D. Douglas

James D. Douglas, 43, of Muncie, passed away on November 3, 2025, at Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  James was born on March 10, 1982, to Steve Douglas and Rhonda (Whitlow) Tharp.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 2001 and went on to study computer programming at Ivy Tech Community College.  James was a loving and caring father who was devoted to providing for and being present for his family.  He attended the New Norm Church, loved fishing, swimming and gaming.

James was a dedicated loving father that loved spending time with all of his children.  His children were his world and everything he did revolved around them.  He is going to be deeply missed by his children, friends, and family and he will never be forgotten.  

James is survived by his children: Emma Douglas (18), Sebastian James Douglas (2), Lillyana Marie Douglas (11) and Jace Michael Douglas (8); siblings: Penny Messmore, Shawnna Trusty, Donnie Tharp and Anthony Tharp.  James was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fountain Square Cremation and Funeral Service.  James’s family wanted his friends to know he is gone too soon.
