Hazel Mae Foxworthy

Hazel Mae Foxworthy, a resilient and loving woman, passed away on September 16, 2023, at the age of 62. She was born on April 27, 1961, to Fred and Nellie Foxworthy and lived a life defined by her unwavering dedication to her family and her indomitable spirit.

Hazel devoted many years of her life to her career in Accounts Payable for the Department of Corrections, where her diligence and commitment were widely recognized. But her most significant role was that of a strong and caring single mother. She went above and beyond to provide for her beloved daughter, even venturing outside her comfort zone to ensure her happiness and well-being.

Turtles held a special place in Hazel's heart, and she amassed quite the collection of them. Every birthday and gift-giving occasion saw the arrival of turtle-themed presents, a testament to the love and thoughtfulness of those who knew her. Despite being allergic to animals, when her daughter expressed a desire for a dog, Hazel made it happen. That dog soon became not only a loyal pet but also her closest companion.

Hazel's greatest joy in life was being a grandmother, and she adored her grandchildren, Benjamin and Bella Baker. She cherished every moment spent with them and held onto the dream of one day taking them to Disney.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Brittney (Brendon Baker) Foxworthy; her beloved grandchildren, Benjamin and Bella Baker; her siblings, Diane Rudnick and Ronnie Foxworthy; her niece, Heather; and numerous extended family members. She is preceded in passing by her parents, her brother Terry, and her sister Priscilla.

Hazel Mae Foxworthy will be remembered for her unwavering love, strength, and determination. Her enduring legacy of selflessness, resilience, and devotion to her family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched during her remarkable journey on this earth.
