Gregory Alan (Greg) Hessong

Gregory “Greg” Alan Hessong, 71, went to be with the Lord in the early morning on Christmas Day 2020.

Greg was born on June 16, 1949 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Dale Hessong and Maxine Hessong (Leasure).  He served as a school teacher in Wayne Township schools for 34 years.  Greg was a proud member of the Pittsboro Masonic Lodge #620 Free and Accepted Masons.  He was a devoted member of Chapel Rock Christian Church.  Greg was an outdoorsman, he loved most things about being outside.  He had a fondness for birds and trees and boating was his favorite activity.  He was a loving and devoted husband and father and grandfather. 

Greg is survived by his wife Jayne Ellen Hessong, whom he married in 1969; his son Scott (Becky) Hessong; his daughter Sheri (Rusty) Dowden; his grandchildren Brianna Dowden, Connor Dowden, Mackenzie Hessong, and Noah Hessong; his sister-in-law Nina (Rick) Clark; and his Aunt Linda Leasure.

Celebration of Life service honoring the life of Greg will take place at 1:00 p.m. on January 2, 2021 at Chapel Rock Christian Church; 2020 North Girls School Road; Indianapolis, Indiana 46215.  Family and friends are welcome to visit from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the Church.
