Geraldine "Jeri" Marie Stanger, age 76, of Indianapolis, passed away on October 28, 2023. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 9, 1947, to her parents, William and Katherine Copeland.
Jeri dedicated 20 years of her life to the art of beautician work. She had a remarkable combination of qualities, possessing the patience of a saint but also a feisty spirit. Jeri was never afraid to speak her mind and stand her ground, especially when it came to matters of family. She had an extraordinary gift for taking care of everyone around her, ensuring that no one ever had to worry about taking care of her in return.
One of Jeri's unique interests was her love for clowns, with a particular fondness for Emmett Kelly figurines. These whimsical characters brought her joy and were a reflection of her playful and light-hearted nature.
Jeri is survived by her loving husband, Steven Stanger, her children Chrissy, Jenny, and Chad, as well as several grandchildren, including Amanda, Amber, and Ashley, and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Kay and Allen.
Jeri is preceded in passing by her parents and her daughters, Tina and Sherry.
A service to celebrate Jeri's life will be held at 1 PM on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the start of the service, with burial following at New Crown Cemetery.
Geraldine "Jeri" Marie Stanger will be deeply missed, and her memory will be cherished by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering care and fierce determination, coupled with her love for the whimsical, will always be remembered with a smile.
