It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Blackmore, who left this world on December 30, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on December 28, 1965, in Indianapolis, Gary lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Gary was the beloved son of John Blackmore and Rebecca Blackmore-Brosman, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sheila Blackmore, with whom he shared 29 beautiful years of marriage. Their union, celebrated on December 12, 2012, was a testament to true love, commitment, and partnership—marked by constant support and joy.
Gary’s legacy continues through his children, Michael and Meagan Blackmore, and his cherished grandchildren: Michael V. Blackmore, Spencer Avant, Kyle Wells, as well as daughters Gina Davis and Stephanie Chamberlin, and four additional grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his brother, Tony Brosman and stepfather, Les Brosman. Gary treasured every moment spent at home surrounded by those he loved most.
A proud veteran, Gary served his country in the United States Army, embodying the spirit of dedication, service, and sacrifice. After completing his military service, he built a fulfilling career installing windows and doors—a profession he took great pride in. Known as the one who could fix anything, Gary was always ready to lend a hand and make life easier for those around him.
Gary’s hobbies brought color and joy to his days. He had a lifelong passion for racecars, collecting them over the years with enthusiasm. His pet bird, Peaches, was his constant companion and second love; the two were rarely apart. The bond they shared brought warmth and companionship to his daily routine.
As we remember Gary, we celebrate a man who brought happiness to everyone he met. His humor, kindness, and generous spirit left a lasting mark on countless hearts. He will be deeply and sorely missed.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring Gary’s memory, which will be held at a later date at the American Legion.
