Frederick "Fred" Erdmann Obituary

Frederick "Fred" William Erdmann, a vibrant and multifaceted individual, passed away on July 4, 2023, at the age of 51. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 2, 1972, to William Erdmann and Linda (Hoeltzel) Hussain. Fred's life journey was marked by his adventurous spirit, entrepreneurial pursuits, and his genuine love for people.

After completing high school, Fred spent a year in college before feeling a strong calling to serve his country in the Marines. His selfless dedication and commitment to his fellow servicemen exemplified his character. Fred's time in the military left an indelible mark on him, shaping his values and instilling in him a strong sense of camaraderie.

As an entrepreneur, Fred established his own CBD store, where he approached his role as a boss with compassion and an open mind. He valued people for who they were, looking beyond qualifications on paper. His ability to recognize potential in individuals and give them opportunities based on their character resonated with those who worked alongside him.

Fred had a passion for collecting hobbies, constantly immersing himself in new interests. One week he might be found DJing, and the next, pursuing woodworking projects, and so on or so forth. His curiosity knew no bounds, and he embraced every opportunity to expand his knowledge and skills.

He was known for his vibrant personality, characterized by his eccentric dress sense and his knack for making others laugh. Fred was a skilled cook and grill master, delighting friends and family with his culinary creations. His love for classic cars was a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship and the nostalgia they evoked.

Fred was a wonderful person who embraced everyone he encountered without judgment. His genuine and friendly nature made him a cherished friend to many. His generosity knew no bounds, as he dedicated himself to fundraising for Autism Awareness, carefully considering the impact of his efforts from every angle.

Fred is survived by his daughter, Justine; his mother, Linda Hussain; his siblings, Donna, John, Noreen, and Sara; and his cherished military friend, Eric. Their lives have been forever touched by Fred's presence and will carry his memory in their hearts.

A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2023, at 2 PM, at Crown Hill Columbarium Annex, 725 West 42nd Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208, where loved ones will gather to celebrate Fred's life and honor his memory.
