Ernest Alonzo Roach “Ernie”, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 19, 2025.
Born on March 23, 1940, in Indianapolis to Raymond and Ila (Loman) Roach, Ernie spent 40 years working at the paper mill before retiring; then working for Tom Wood before also retiring from there. He was an avid hunter, with a special love for deer hunting, though he enjoyed going after other game as well.
Ernie had a soft spot for his chihuahua, Kelby—his fierce little protector and constant sidekick. More than anything, he was a devoted father, a loving grandfather, and a proud great-grandfather.
He is survived by his children Don (Sabetha) and Rod (Becky); grandchildren Heather, Nikki, Kailah, and Trena; great-grandchildren Cameron, Alonzo, Braylan, Marky Jr., and Hudson; and his beloved dog, Kelby.
Ernie was preceded in passing by his parents, Raymond and Ila Roach, and his wife, Mona (Martin) Roach.
