Emma Maxine Nave, affectionately known as Macky and sometimes as Mean Maxine, passed away on May 28, 2024, at the age of 79. Emma was born in Indianapolis, IN, on December 23, 1944, to Russell Fisher and Betty (Taylor) Aldridge.
Emma spent many years working in appliance stores before obtaining her CNA license. She then dedicated over 20 years as a Health Care Aide at Meridian Nursing and Rehab, a role she loved and took great pride in. Known for her intelligence and admirable work ethic, Emma worked tirelessly to provide for her children.
A member of American Legion Post #88, Emma enjoyed playing Bingo and fishing. She was also a long time member of the Conversation Club on Troy; but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She fiercely loved her family and wasn’t one to mince words, yet her love was always clear. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she often let her granddaughters paint her nails, wearing their colorful creations with pride.
Emma is survived by her children Shirley (Pete), Cheryl (Freddy), and Dewayne; her grandchildren Christina, Stephanie, Brad, Hayley, Makayla, Dakota, Holli, Repete, and Ashton; and her great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Noah, Emmalynn, Liam, Lillian, Jude, Bailea, and Ralen. She also leaves behind her siblings Sissy, Judy, Johnny, and Michelle, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Emma is preceded in passing by her daughter Cynthia; her father Russell Fisher; her mother Betty Aldridge; her husband Fred Nave; her step father Harold Aldridge; step mom Della Fisher; and great-grandchild Leeland.
Emma Maxine Nave will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
