Douglas Lee Floyd Sr., 66, Indianapolis, passed away at home on November 9, 2025. Doug was born in Hoopeston, Illinois on December 11, 1959, to Jeff Jr. and Sue Carol (White) Floyd.
Doug married Tammie (Caviness) Floyd in 1985. By 1987 they had 3 children. Doug Jr., Matthew, and Amanda. Their family was complete.
Doug was a very simple man. He showed his love not through words, but by teasing. If you were ever teased by Doug, just know, he loved you.
Before Doug became permanently disabled, he had many jobs throughout the years, spending many years in the towing industry. He also served in the Army National Guard, but he always ended up back at Victory Field (formerly Bush Stadium) during the summer months. He loved working there and they treated him like family. Doug was pictured on the front page of the newspaper, getting ready for the last opening day at Bush Stadium before it was permanently closed.
In his later years, his love for his Grandchildren and then Great-Grandchildren is what made his whole world. Each one of them had their own nickname and he would ignore you if you referred to them by their real names. (Almost everyone in his life had nicknames.)
Doug enjoyed watching wrestling, old westerns, and being with his family, no matter the place. He also loved attending the races at the Indianapolis Speedrome to cheer on a couple of his favorite racers...his grandchildren!
