Diane "Bunny" Willoughby, a remarkable and beloved individual, passed away on June 21, 2023. She was born on April 13, 1941, in Indianapolis, IN, to Taylor Sullivan and Martha Rhude. Diane's infectious love and acceptance touched the lives of everyone she encountered, turning strangers into cherished members of her extended family.
Diane had an unparalleled ability to embrace and support others, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her nurturing nature extended to everyone around her, as she selflessly cared for the well-being of others. Her genuine kindness and compassion created an atmosphere of warmth and love wherever she went.
A woman of deep faith, Diane was a devoted Christian who held a strong belief in God. In her passing, she finds solace in being reunited with her husband Jimmy, daughters, and grandchildren in Heaven. Diane's compassionate spirit also extended to animals, particularly cats, but she had a special talent for rescuing dogs. She frequented the humane society, adopting these animals and finding them loving homes herself.
Journaling was a cherished pastime for Diane, and she faithfully wrote in her journal on a daily basis. Her thoughts and reflections were captured within its pages, serving as a testament to her introspective nature and her commitment to self-expression.
To her beloved grandchildren, Diane was affectionately known as "Mammy." She adored her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, showering her grandkids with love and affection. Their happiness and well-being were always a priority in her life.
Diane is survived by her children Diana, Donald Jr, Kelly, Mike, James, and Brandy; her grandchildren Donald III, Lindsey, Kristin, Dakota, Josh, Mikey, Zachary, David, Dustin, Amanda, Cody, Austin, and Mackenzie; 18 great-grandchildren; and her loyal canine companions, Micah and Scooby.
She is preceded in passing by her parents, her beloved husband Jimmy Willoughby, her daughters Kathy and Christina, her grandchildren Dale and Taylor, and her great-grandson Talon.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM Noon, with burial to follow at Floral Park.
Diane's legacy of love, acceptance, and unwavering faith will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her selflessness and dedication to family and friends serve as an inspiration to all. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and joy to those whose lives she touched.
