Deborah Hartman Obituary

Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Hartman, 56, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Debbie was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 8, 1966, to Troy Davis and Carolyn Wilson. She worked many jobs over the years, she was a very hard worker with a great work ethic.  Debbie was fierce and tough as nails, she was not afraid to stand up for her loved ones or come over the counter at work to run off riffraff at her job.  You did not mess with her cigarettes or coffee, and she was determined to have both until the end.  Debbie was a tom boy, she always wore jeans and a t-shirt.  She loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Kentucky Wildcats, and frequently watched wrestling and NASCAR.  Debbie enjoyed listening to music, playing the lottery, and going to the casino.  She was the gossip queen and everyone knew if you needed to know something, call Debbie. But watch out, she was definitely mischievous and known to stir the pot a time or two.

Debbie was a firecracker.  She was strong and brave, feisty, and she loved hard.  She never met a stranger, and whether you were social or not she would talk to you and expect a reply. She was just a likeable and lovable person. She had the biggest heart, and to know her was to love her.  She became a mom to many people she met, and her love was so strong it softened and changed people into being a better version of themselves.  Debbie was never one to give up on someone she cared about, no matter if it was another chance they deserved or not.  She was close with her family, especially her mother.  She visited her brothers as much as she could, and doted on her nieces and nephews, considering them more of her own kids.  She was the best mom anyone could ever hope for, and was very close with her daughter. Now take that and multiply by the nth degree for how she was as a grandmother.  She adored her grandkids with every fiber of her being.  Debbie was taken too soon, but she is reunited with the love of her life, Gene, and her mother, and solace can be taken in that.

Debbie is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Mitchell) Weaver; her dog son Pooder; her grandchildren Terrell Jones Jr, Jeremiah Jones, and Aysia Jones; her brothers Richard Davis, Troy (Nancy) Davis, Ralph (Carolyn) Davis, and George Davis; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Debbie is preceded in passing by her father Troy Davis; her mother Carolyn Wilson; and her husband of 23 years Eugene Hartman.
