Deanna Lientz Obituary

Deanna Kay Lientz, 70, of Indianapolis, formerly of Greencastle, IN, passed away on May 17, 2025.

Deanna was born in Greencastle, IN on December 29, 1954, to Robert and Nancy (Gaines) Lientz. She held a variety of jobs over the years—from housekeeping to life insurance to working at Big Lots. No matter what she did, she brought a strong work ethic and always worked hard to take care of her family.

She loved a good card game, especially Rummy and Euchre, and was surprisingly skilled at pool. Deanna also loved playing Yahtzee and was known to get a little competitive when the dice were rolling. She enjoyed playing Candy Crush on her phone and relaxing with her beloved cats.

Some of her favorite memories were the times spent floating down the river on inner tubes with her brothers—simple moments filled with laughter and sunshine. Traveling with family and friends was something she cherished deeply, and Florida held a special place in her heart.

Her family meant the world to her, and she would have done anything for them. She was a wonderful cook and someone who made others feel cared for with both her kindness and her meals.

Deanna is survived by her children, Shannon (Emmitt Jason) Pugh, James Lientz, and Savannah (Ryan Bauer) Lientz; her grandson, Levi McMullen; her best friend, Debbie Polston; and her cats, Tom, Kat, Callie, and Baby.

She is preceded in passing by her parents, Robert and Nancy Lientz; and her husband, James Robert Stewart.
