David "Dave" W Gaines

David “Dave” William Gaines, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away on June 7, 2024.

Dave was born in Indianapolis, IN, on May 12, 1957, to Billy D Gaines and Shirley Hamer. He was a jack of all trades, a true hustler with a knack for bartering. Dave had a lot of love to give. He genuinely liked people and was incredibly charming—a trait that served him well in his chosen profession. A go-getter and fun to be around, Dave was well-loved by all who knew him.

Dave enjoyed football, a good cookout, and a cold Miller High Life. His favorite person in the world was his wife, Diana, whom he spoiled absolutely rotten. She, in turn, spoiled him right back. Their love, which spanned 40 years, will live on forever because true love never fades.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Gaines; his children, Tonya and Mindy; his sisters, Debbie Gaines and Diane Cloe; and many extended family members and countless friends.

He is preceded in passing by his father, Billy D Gaines; his mother, Shirley Hamer; and his daughter, Cindy.
