Daniel "Danny" J Johnson

Daniel “Danny” J. Johnson, 51, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 25, 2024.

Danny was born on February 10, 1973, in Indianapolis to Debra (Holt) Phelps. He had a big personality and effortlessly put a smile on everyone’s face. Danny loved being outdoors, whether gardening, fishing, or taking long drives through the countryside with Kristi while listening to his favorite country songs. He had a talent for finding hidden gems at yard sales and never passed up the chance to go treasure hunting.

Danny had a compassionate heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, no matter the situation. He had a way of making people laugh and lightening the mood, even during tough times. His goofiness had infinite reach—it could soften the hearts of men and make the children in his life adore him.

Faith was an important part of who Danny was. He read his Bible often and strived to live by its teachings. He frequently prayed for wisdom and guidance, and God worked through him to share the teachings of Jesus, making Danny a role model for the family he led. While his family and friends feel his loss deeply, they find peace knowing he is now at home with God.

Danny is survived by his partner of many years, Kristi Johnson; his children, Daniel Jr., Kendall, and Taylor; his grandchildren, Leo, HazelGrace, Amiyah, Aliyah, Weston, Uriah, Jax, and Aiden; his siblings, Charity, Dusty, and Matt; the mother of his children, Melissa; several nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandparents, Donna and Ralph, his stepfather, Vernon, and his biological father Billy Joe Bowling.
