Daniel Smith

Daniel Rylee Smith, 18, was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 11, 2003. Daniel passed away on June 25, 2021 in South Carolina after being involved in an accident. Daniel was a generous, caring young man just starting his life. Daniel was born a fighter, starting his first 3 months of life in Riley Hospital NICU. Daniel fought against the odds then and continued to amaze his family with his resilient attitude throughout his young life.
Daniel is survived by his Mother Ashley Smith and Father Michael Parks, step father Brian Piper, his siblings Ayden, Skylnn, Natalie, Destiny, Kade, Ashton, Jaylen and Ryan. Daniel had a very large extended family and was so very loved. Daniel was also very much in love with his girlfriend whom he had informed his immediate family that he planned to propose to soon, Hannah. The family wishes to thank her for the happiness she brought into his life. Daniel was preceded in death by his Grandma Tina, in who the family rests assured is taking care of him in Heaven. Daniel was her first grandchild and they had a bond that was unbreakable.
Daniel was a fun, outgoing young man who never met a stranger. He was very comfortable with speaking to others and made everyone feel welcome. Daniel was hilarious, he loved to be the jokester in the room and always wanted to make others smile. Daniel had a fierce amount of loyalty and stood for what he believed in. He would not back down from a situation just because it became uncomfortable.

Daniels last bookmarked reading in his Bible was in the book of Matthew-  “And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”
Matthew 22:37

Daniel also loved space science- claiming multiple times he would one day work for NASA. Tonight, when you are looking at the stars, remember this funny, lighthearted kid and be happy, as he would want us all to be. We all look forward to the day when we will see you again Dan, we love you.
