Corinne D (Corporon) Nichols

Corinne D (Corporon) Nichols, age 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. She was a remarkable individual with a unique and quirky sense of humor. Corinne had a reputation for being fashionably late to every occasion, making her fashionably unforgettable.

Corinne was born in Dearborn, MI to Clarence and Dorothy Mae (Smith) Ballam.  She was a loving, joyful, and giving soul. She possessed an unwavering determination to live life on her own terms, which often made her more stubborn than a mule. Her independence and tenacity were traits that defined her and earned her the respect and admiration of those fortunate enough to be a part of her life.

She is survived by her children, Susan Qayyum, Ruth Armor, Cat Ping, and Sandy Barlow; her grandchildren, Scott Reed, Andrea Armor, Jessica Reed, and Jennifer Armor; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylie Kingston, Chloe Kingston, Kristen Kingston, Skylar Reed, and John Reed. Additionally, there is one great-great-grandchild on the way.

Corinne was preceded in passing by her husband, John James Nichols Jr., whose memory she cherished throughout her life; and her parents Clarence and Dorothy (Smith) Ballam.

A graveside service to celebrate Corinne's life will be held at 1 PM on Friday, September 29, 2023, at Floral Park Cemetery.

Corinne will be fondly remembered for her vibrant personality, her unwavering spirit, and the love and laughter she shared with all those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and a reminder to live life on your own terms. She will be deeply missed by her family.
