Clifford "Cliff" Douglas Wright, 60, passed away on February 28, 2024, succumbing to complications from Heart Disease and Colon Cancer. Born on September 30, 1963, in Danville, IN, to Charles L and Shirley A (Davenport) Wright, Clifford was known for his independent spirit from an early age. Throughout his life, Clifford pursued various occupations, from earning national recognition as an award-winning baker in the 80s to serving as a part-time Deputy Marshall for Boone County. His favorite job was that of a deep-sea fisherman in the Arctic Waters, especially once he was accepted in and no longer considered a Greenhorn.
In his younger days, Cliff excelled in billiards, participating in leagues such as the Brookside Sharks alongside his dad and sisters, where he earned numerous accolades for his skill. An accomplished artist across multiple mediums, Clifford’s talent ranged from chalks to paints, pens, and pencils. He could draw scenes and portraits that would blow the viewer away.
Clifford found solace and redemption, returning home like the Prodigal Son. He devoted himself to caring for his mother, with whom he shared a special bond. Clifford found strength in his faith and took pride in his relationship with the Lord.
Clifford was a beloved uncle who valued spending time with all his nieces and nephews, who all thought he was the Bee’s Knees. He deeply loved his children and family, even if he wasn’t always able to show it.
Cliff is survived by his sons Robert "Bobby" (Peyton) Wright, Mark (Renee) Wright, and Steven Wright; grandchildren Kirsten, Kehlani, Austin, Alexis, and Reagyn; one great-grandchild; siblings Rhondalyn Wright, Donna (Harry Mosley) Wright, and Tsuleean (George) Cabiles; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, mother of his children, Kelly Biddle.
