Charles A. Shorter

Charles Allen Shorter, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, passed away on his 74th birthday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Sullivan, Indiana April 18th, 1952, the son of Leo and Mary Rose Shorter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Patricia Marie (Shorter) Stierwalt.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie Shorter, of 54.5 years, who he married on September 10th, 1971, three daughters, Michele Lee Shorter, Jennifer Lee Flowers (Jason Melcher), and Amanda Lee Goodman (Joe Goodman), seven living grandchildren, Zachary Evans (Jessica), Kaitlyn Evans, Hannah Sireci, Tyler Sireci, Emily Sireci, Leo Turner and Rae (Norris) Brenton, three great grandchildren, Silas Evans, Levi Hugill, and Gabriel Brenton, his nephew, Christopher Stierwalt (Paula) and one great nephew, Ian Stierwalt.

Future services and interment will be with his wife, at the discretion of their three daughters. Arrangements were entrusted to Fountain Square Cremation &  Funeral Services.
