Charles Andrews Duke, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 4, 2024.
Born on July 18, 1954, in Indianapolis to Harry and Frances Duke, Charles was known for his unmatched work ethic and generous heart. A dedicated provider, he often worked multiple jobs to support his family, including an early career as a certified electrician. However, he became best known for his 40 years of service delivering pizza—everyone’s happy to see the pizza man. Charles loved a good conversation and was the kind of person who would do anything for others, giving selflessly to those around him.
He had a passion for motorcycles and loved the freedom and tranquility he found on the open road. An avid fan of America’s Got Talent, Charles enjoyed relaxing evenings with his favorite show and was always up for a night at the movies. As a father, he was dedicated; as a grandfather, he was proud; and as a friend, he was loyal and true.
Charles leaves behind his children, Christopher Duke and his fiancée Tiffany Coats, Jessica Jorgenson and her husband Christopher, and Kenneth Peelman; his grandchildren, Logan Duke, Shane Blevins, Rebecca Ramsey, Nathan Jorgenson, Peyton Ramsey, and Michael Ramsey; his sisters, Judy Foster and Karen French and her husband John; his brother-in-law Danny Foster; his sister-in-law Jan Duke; and the mother of his two younger children and close friend, Evelyn Miniard, along with her husband Carroll.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Frances Duke, and his brother, Richard Duke.
