Calvin D "CD" Willis, 63, of Rockville, IN passed away on December 11, 2020.
CD was born in Pennsylvania on July 5, 1957 to Chester Willis and Ruby (Mullins) Clark. CD worked for 30 years as a heavy equipment operator, of which 20 he spent as a foreman on all of his jobs. He loved playing in the dirt while operating heavy machinery. His fingerprints can be seen all around Indianapolis area from subdivisions and roads to commercial developments. CD was incredibly handy, there was nothing that he put his hands on that he couldn’t fix. He had a strong work ethic and never complained about his job, his motto was “just make it work.” More of his favorite phrases were “Okie Dokie” “Go play in dirt” “gee wiz” and “Never say you can’t”, because that was the kind of man he was, one who was never afraid to try.
CD was one of a kind. He liked his coffee black and never left the house without it, even if it was 90 degrees. He was spontaneous and adventurous. He loved riding his Harley and a good party. He enjoyed music. To people he considered part of his inner circle he loved hard and was compassionate. He loved a challenge and was a no nonsense sort, but he was a fierce protector and had a giving heart. If you weren’t in his inner circle we feel sorry for you.
Above everything else, CD loved spending time with his wife, family, friends, and his dogs. They meant the world to him, and he dedicated his life to taking care of and loving his wife Theresa. He, along with his bigger-than-plate pancakes, will be greatly missed. There was never a better husband, dad, brother, pawpaw, nor friend.
CD is survived by his wife Theresa (Cheshier) Willis; his sons Calvin D (Jennifer) Willis Jr, Jason (Jamie) Willis, James Cheshier, and Roy (Katrina) Cheshier; his daughters Deanna (Kent) Jackson and Kimberlee (Jose) Veleon; his brothers Dwight Willis, Douglas Willis, Dean Willis, and Steave Edwards; and his sisters Doris Mock, Sandy Edwards, and Diane Edwards; 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and numerous friends.
