Bobbie Jo Brown

Bobbie Jo Brown, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away March 2, 2023.

Bobbie was born in Indianapolis, IN on December 4, 1945 to Joseph Okiec and Novice (Mayard) Starling. Bobbie was one of a kind.  She was feisty, and fierce, when she walking into a room she took command of it.  She was a great cook, and truly excelled at whatever she put her mind to.  She enjoyed reading in her downtime, but her true love was her family.  She was the matriarch of the family, the one who held everyone together.  She was selfless, putting everyone she cared about above herself. Bobbie's love grew with each new generation, as much as she loved being a grandmother, she was absolutely delighted to be a great-grandmother.  She showered her love and affection on her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.  She was a great person, and her golden heart will be missed.

Bobbie is survived by her children Jennifer (Ron), Kristal, Marcus, and Rebecca; grandchildren Novice, Scott, Jacob (Tiffany), Johnny, and Spencer; many nieces and nephews including Lee Glasscock; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Bobbie is preceded in passing by her father Joseph Okiec; her mother Novice Starling; her husband John McDonald; and her sister Delores Melton.

Services for Bobbie will be 1 PM, Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery.
