Billy Brown Obituary

Billy Lemire Brown was Born July 30th 1944 to the late Elease (Young) Brown and Abraham Brown Sr. in Hampton South Carolina.

As a child Billy loved to sing. He along with his brothers was a member of the church band The Brown Boys. They traveled from church to church singing for the Lord. When he got older Billy traveled and sang with various groups The Soulsters, The Blind Boys and even The O’Jays from Canton, Ohio. Billy loved him some good ole down south food and fruits, He even actively sold fresh watermelon and peaches while traveling throughout the states.

He met his wife Sharon Rose (Lipkins) Brown in Canton, Ohio while performing with one of the traveling bands. He married Sharon and she traveled and lived with him in various places before returning back to Ohio. They lived in Lake Placid Florida, Bronx New York and South Carolina briefly. Billy Lived a full life residing in multiple cities and places including South Carolina Cities Orangeburg, Hampton and Columbia. He also lived in Norfolk and Virginia Beach Virginia where he remained close with his siblings before finally resting in Indianapolis, Indiana with his daughter and grandchildren.

Billy is preceded in death by his Parents as mentioned above, his son Darnell Ray Brown, His siblings Eddie Brown of Hampton SC, Sinclair Brown of Lake Placid Florida, and Joe Louis Brown of West Palm Beach Florida.

He is survived by his eldest siblings Marion Lucy (Brown) Joyner of Norfolk Virginia, Abraham Brown Jr. of Norfolk, Virginia and Amos Brown of Hampton South Carolina.  Also Surviving him are his 3 children sons Keith Lee Brown of Cleveland Ohio, Timothy Lee Brown (Location Unknown), and Daughter Mary Ann Brown of Indianapolis, Indiana. He leaves behind six grandchildren Gayla Brown, Leon Brown, Princess Burch and Naomi Burch all residing in Indianapolis Indiana and two Grandchildren Titus Burch and Sarah Burch residing in San Antonio Texas Along with nine great-grandchildren Sirjames Smith Jr., Jhordyn Brown, Jayleigh Brown, Chase Jones, Royal Burch, Lryic Brown, Ace     Anderson, Tsifira Burch and Prince Brown.
