Betty Faye Spalding, 80, of Indianapolis, formerly of Hazard, KY, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
Betty was born in Hazard, KY on June 29, 1941 to Ambrose and Maudie Stidham. She worked for many years as the Gatekeeper for Eagle Creek Park before retiring. She loved nature and i addition to making it her career she collected pretty rocks and was always on the hunt for 4-leaf clovers. She was a dog lover and her dog Sugar Bear was like another child to her. She enjoyed reading the newspaper. Betty was feisty and not afraid to speak her mind, no matter what the subject was. She was a good mom and loved being a grandmother. Her family was very important to her.
Betty is survived by her children Crystal (Chris) Hayes and James (Morgan) Spalding; her siblings Ambrose Stidham Jr and Geraldine Johnson; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in passing by her husband Fred Spalding; her daughters Brenda Brickert, Beverly Fledderjohn, and Debbie Rhea; her parents Ambrose and Maudie Stidham; and her brother Carl Stidham.
Services for Betty will be 1 PM, Monday, December 6, 2021, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service, with burial following at Calvary Cemetery.
