Betty R. Radcliffe, 97, of Indianapolis, formerly of Salem, Indiana, passed away on April 16, 2025.
Betty was born in Salem on November 28, 1927, to Roy and Grace (Elliott) Radcliffe. A woman of strong faith and quiet strength, she lived a life devoted to service, education, and her church, Woodruff Place Baptist Church.
She graduated from Baptist Missionary Training School in Chicago in 1952 and later became part of the Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, New York. Betty dedicated 18 and a half years of her life to teaching Religious Education before retiring, and then continued her service in the community by working in food service for Indianapolis Public Schools for another 14 years.
Betty was known for her unwavering faith, kind heart, and deep sense of purpose. She touched countless lives through her teaching and by simply living what she believed.
She is survived by close friends Jesse and Victoria Carleton, as well as her beloved church family.
Betty is preceded in passing by her parents, Roy and Grace Radcliffe, and her sisters, Velma Jean Hollen and Roberta Briggs.
