Obituary for Betty Jean Ethridge (Tarrh) June 11, 1961 – November 17, 2025
It is with great love and heartfelt sorrow that the family of Betty Jean Ethridge (Tarrh) announces her passing on November 17, 2025. She left this world peacefully, surrounded by those who loved her most. Born on June 11, 1961, Betty lived a life defined by devotion to her family, a spirit full of humor, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys around her. Betty was known for her warm heart and her playful, ornery nature that brought smiles and laughter to every room she entered. She loved flowers, spending time outdoors, and especially enjoyed camping, where she found comfort in nature’s quiet beauty.
More than anything, Betty treasured her family. She was incredibly proud of her son, Travis Tarrh, and her beloved grandson, David Tarrh, who were constant sources of joy and pride. Her love for them was endless and unwavering.
Betty is survived by her father, Wade Eugene Ethridge Sr. (Patricia). She leaves behind her son, Travis Tarrh (Allison), as well as her cherished grandson, David Tarrh. She is also survived by her siblings Susan Brown (JD), Cindy McConley (Danny), Wade Ethridge Jr., and David Ethridge (Sue), each of whom will deeply miss her presence, laughter, and strength. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae Dell Carswell, her sister, Debora Bates (Mike), and her brother, Jerry Ethridge.
Their memories and love now welcome her home. Betty’s legacy will continue in the love she gave, the stories she leaves behind, and the many lives she touched. Her family will forever remember her as a woman who loved deeply, laughed freely, and brought beauty—like her favorite flowers— into the world around her.
Family and friends are invited to honor Betty’s life on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Fountain Square Cremation and Funeral Services, 1420 Prospect Street Indianapolis, IN 46203. A memorial visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM with memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM.
