Anthony Alfred Adair, age 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 10, 2024. Born in Indianapolis on February 11, 1961, to Marion and Mary (Delello) Adair, Anthony spent his early years in the city he loved.
After graduating from high school, Anthony attended college for a year before deciding that the academic environment wasn't a fit for his free spirit. Known as the smartest in the family, he was a brilliant and introspective individual who preferred solitude, finding comfort in the company of books; with a particular fondness for the works of Edgar Allan Poe and William Shakespeare.
Anthony's love for literature extended to his own writing endeavors, and he had a passion for traveling, exploring new places and experiences. A dedicated fan of the New York Yankees, he supported his team through every high and low. His taste in music was eclectic, with a deep appreciation for old school blues and hippie music that reflected his laid-back nature.
Professionally, Anthony found great satisfaction in his work, and he loved the camaraderie he formed with his coworkers, whom he considered his work family. His dedication leaves a lasting impact on those he worked with at General Devices.
Anthony is survived by his siblings Bell Savage, Kathy Adams, John Adair, Larry Adair, Alice Rose, and Janet McEntire; his best friend of 29 years, David; and a large extended family including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He also leaves behind his close-knit work family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Mary Adair, and his siblings Leroy Adair, Eugene Adair, and Rosemary Handlon.
