Ann “Grannie Annie” Marie (Ingersoll) Huffman, 84, of Speedway, formerly of Flora, IL, passed away on November 11, 2022.
Ann was born in Flora, IL on August 7, 1938 to the late James Edgar and Adenia Bell (Burt) Ingersoll. She worked as a Ward Clerk for VAMC for many years before retiring. Ann was a free spirit, she was always game for anything; at 74 she even went zip-lining with her family. She was warm and nurturing, and she never met a stranger. Ann was always happy, and she spread that happiness around wherever she went; except when it came to cards. Then it was every man for themself. She loved birds and collected ceramic figures of them.
Ann loved deeply; she had a beautiful soul and a heart of gold. She was a devote Christian and very active with the church; teaching Sunday School in her younger days. Her love for her fellow man inspired her to volunteer at the Crisis Pregnancy Center, where she helped countless individuals in a tough situation. Her generous spirit and grace will be missed.
Ann is survived by her husband Robert Huffman; her sons Steven Gary (Angie) Huffman and William J (Lynn) Huffman; her siblings Sandra Ingersoll Sidwell, James (Dianna) Ingersoll, Joan (Frank) Slichenmyer, Jean (Tom) Blakney, and William (Juliane) Ingersoll; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in passing by her daughter Diana Benton; and siblings Lois Kathryn Ingersoll Bales and Adenia Ruth Ingersoll Smith.
Funeral Services will be at 12PM at Speedway Baptist Church, with visitation from 10AM until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Speedway Baptist Church in Ann's honor.
