Allen Lee Rutledge

Allen Lee Rutledge, 64, of Greenwood, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away on June 13, 2022.

Allen was born in Indianapolis, IN on September 23, 1957 to Posey and Anna Mae (Board) Rutledge.  He grew up in Fountain Square and after graduating high school he turned his handiness into a career.  He did roofing and construction before becoming the owner of a radiator shop before retiring in 2001.  In his younger years and while his health allowed Allen loved hunting and camping.  He was a collector of things, most notably wizards, dragons, and lately gnomes.  Above all he loved his family.  Allen was a great husband, caring father, involved grandfather, and good friend.  He loved hosting family gatherings like cookouts and spending time with his family.  He loved playing with his grandchildren and he himself was a big kid at heart. Allen was funny, always joking around.  He was a man of his morals and values who remained true to himself. He knew what he wanted out of life and he went for it.

Allen is survived by his wife Kamiah Rutledge; his children Alicia Rutledge, Shawn Whitis, Mariah Thayer, Kamiah THayer, and Destiny Thayer; his grandchildren Cayden, Conner, Brooklyn, and Octavius; his great grandchildren Damien, Derion, Dixon Jr, and 1 baby girl on the way; his brother Steve Rutledge; his nieces and nephews Smanda, Megan, Arturo, Adrian, and Kyle; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Allen is preceded in passing by his parents Posey and Anna Rutledge; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
