Adrena Mae Clark, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away on November 10, 2024.
Adrena was born on May 2, 1929, in Indianapolis, to Floyd and Ada (Vandenburg) Littleton. Known to her family as the “Queen of the Drapes,” she was a gifted seamstress with an eye for detail, never without a tape measure in her purse in case of a sewing emergency. Adrena had a keen sense for decorating and taste, often transforming birdhouses into unique works of art for her feathered visitors. She had a love for all things bright and beautiful, collecting shiny baubles and rich colors that matched her vibrant personality. Singing and traveling were among her greatest passions, and she was always ready for a new adventure.
Though not one for physical affection, Adrena’s love ran deep, and she had a way of letting others know exactly where they stood with her. Her words were direct and honest leaving no doubt to her true feelings; but also never doubting how much she cared. Her home was filled with food for her guests and, for her daughters and granddaughters, an array of clothes made by her own hands.
A woman of strong faith, Adrena dedicated her life to Christ, serving the Lord for over 77 years. She cherished the fellowship of her church community, finding joy in worship alongside her brothers and sisters in Christ and sharing a meal together afterward, feeding their bodies after feeding their souls.
Adrena is survived by her four children, Lyndal Clark, David Clark, Nadine Gorgiani, and Nyla Kurtz; her brothers, JD, Ray, Jim, and Butch; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Floyd and Ada Littleton; her husband, Donald J. Clark; and her sister, Vera Updike.
