William "Bill" Eugene Gaines

William "Bill" Eugene Gaines, 72, of Indianapolis, formerly of Beech Grove, passed away October 25, 2018.

Bill was born in Beech Grove, IN on December 20, 1945 to the late James B Gaines and Helen (Fitzpatrick) Booster.  He was a welder and worked for Kennedy Tank for over 35 years.  He had an excellent work ethic and loved his job, he often said his co-workers were like his second family.  Bill was very charming and charismatic, a very smooth individual.  He had a magnetic quality that drew people to him.  He could make anyone laugh and was quite the jokester.  He enjoyed fishing and being outside.  He was very proud of the fact that he lived his life how he wanted, his way.  He was never one to conform.

Bill is survive by his children, Wendy Willis, Carol Holka, Brian Gaines, and Cynthia Gaines; his siblings Teresa McDonald, Cheryl Dean, and Linda Yager; his ex wives Diane Jones and Sandra Gaines; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in passing by his daughter Cathy McKinney and his brother Larry Gaines.

Visitation for Bill will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4-7 PM at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  His funeral services will be Tuesday, 11 AM, October 30.  Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery.
