Theresa Marie (Stevens) Byrkett

Theresa Marie Byrkett, 59, of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2018.

Theresa was born on October 23, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to Cyrus Gwen and Carol Ann (Kent) Stevens.  After graduating from Avon High School in 1977 Theresa went on to nursing school before dedicating her life to her family.  She was a great cook who loved experimenting in the kitchen.  Her lasagna was her best recipe, followed closely by her ribs and chili.  She was forever testing out salsa recipes trying to get the perfect one.  When she wasn't cooking, her favorite restaurants were Olive Garden and Steak'N'Shake.  She liked to read, James Patterson books were her favorite.  She was all about the mysteries and the thrillers.  Ellen was her favorite show.

Theresa loved her family.  She doted on her cats, except when she put out birdseed right outside the window to tease them.  She liked playing cards, and played 500 Rummy daily with her husband, Scott.  Her daughter Christina was the light of her world, and when grandchildren came along they shared in that love.  She was a strong woman who never let the fight go out of her.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Scott Byrkett; her daughter Christina; her grandchildren Lucas and Trinity; her brother Brett Wade (Janette) Stevens; and her nieces and nephews Michelle, Travis, Brian, and Kevin.
