Teresa Marie (Bates) Scott

Teresa Marie Scott (Bates) was born in Peru, IN on April 13, 1972, to parents Barbara and Patrick Bates, as the fourth of six children.

Teresa grew up in Indianapolis, IN, loved sports and was in constant competition with her big brothers. She met her husband James Scott while working at Speedway in 1991. Teresa loved spending time with her grandkids, playing bingo, cleaning, being around her loved ones and watching the Colts games. She REALLY loved the Indianapolis Colts! Her sense of humor and ability to laugh at herself allowed her to enjoy the later part of her life, even through illness.

Teresa passed peacefully while on vacation with her family on October 18, 2019. She enjoyed her last few days on Earth on a cruise ship sailing around the Western Caribbean.
Teresa is survived by her daughters Jamie and Jasmine, her grandchildren Darian Jr., Da'Niyiah, Aubree, Olivia, several bonus grandchildren, her mother, Barbara Crim (Kern), her brothers, Patrick and Michael Bates, sisters, Andrea (John) Burger, Elizabeth (Mario) Yanez, Connie (Rob) Soukup, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Teresa is preceded in passing by her brother Joseph Bates (2014), her husband, James Scott (2013), and father, Patrick Bates (2000).

Visitation will be at Fountain Square Mortuary on Thursday, October 24th from 4-7pm. Service will begin at 7pm.
