Steven "Steve" Williams, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
Steve was born in Indianapolis, IN on February 27, 1954 to Theodore Russell and Ethel (Maddox) Williams. He worked for Walgreens and Tucker State Pharmacy for many years before retiring. Steve was a very Godly man and loved to preach, no matter the time and the place, even practicing in the shower. He had the gift of gab and could talk to anyone, he loved being social. It was a running joke that he only had jobs so he could talk to people. He told the best jokes and stories.
Steve, who some may only know as "meat cleaver" had a big heart and one of his favorite things was playing Santa Clause for kids. In addition to his grandchildren, he also played Santa at multiple schools, including IPS 114, 117, and Emmanuel Christian Academy.
His family was his whole life, and he adored all his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He looked forward to going to the Jefferson Monument in Kentucky every year for family reunions, and visiting Tennessee with his wife of 40 years, Rebecca. He was also so full of life and love, he will be greatly missed.
Steve is survived by his wife, Rebecca; his children Joanna Crabtree and Melissa Williams; 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; his siblings Jack Williams, Billy Williams, Jeff Williams, Mike Williams, Bernard Williams, Joe Williams, and Pam Walters; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Steve is preceded in passing by his parents, Theodore and Ethel Williams; and 7 siblings.
Funeral service for Steve will be Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Noon at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 10AM until the hour of the service. Steve will be laid to rest at New Crown Cemetery.
