Sharon Lee Silcox, 76, of Fountain Square passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
Sharon was born May 16, 1943. She retired from CTP Corp. She was born on Fletcher, and didn't move from that street her whole life. She was Fountain Square to the bone and proud of it. Sharon had a heart of gold, and spread love as easily as breathing. She was the neighborhood mom and took care of everyone. She was a great cook and often the neighbors would request a heads up when she was cooking a certain dish so they could be sure to get a helping. Her sons friends often said "If you leave the Silcox house hungry, it's your own fault." She was a natural care-giver, and gave her all for her family. She was also a fighter and stayed feisty until the end. She loved spending time with her family. Sharon had a strong faith, and there's no doubt from anyone that knew her that she is now rejoicing at her reunion with her husband Jerry in Heaven.
Sharon is preceded in passing by her husband, Jerry Wade Silcox Sr, whom passed on November 1, 2015 and five siblings.
Sharon is survived by her children Jerry Wade Jr, Melissa D. Silcox, Herman (Julie) Silcox, Stacy (Mike) Wyant, Shirley (Donnie) Silcox, and Caylee S. Silcox; 15 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; her sisters Sandra Poceitt and Carolyn York; and many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 4-8PM, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services, 1420 Prospect St, Indianapolis, IN 46203. Funeral services will be 12 PM noon, Friday, June 14, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at New Crown Cemetery.
