Ronald "Ron" Crabtree Sr

Ronald "Ron" Crabtree Sr, 65, of Indianapolis, formerly of Oneida, TN, was born on September 28, 1953 to Earl and Hazel (Hatfield) Crabtree. He owned a body shop where he worked on and painted cars.  Since his retirement he got to work with his brother Dillard, with whom he was very close.  Ron liked to stay busy.  He loved long rides on his Harley Davidson through nature.  

Ron was an awesome person, he lived his life for others.  He was kind and generous, always willing to help someone out.  He had a big heart, and was a family man.  He had a special, unique relationship with everyone, he always made sure to treat people like individuals no matter who they were. He always went to bat for his kids, he was always on their side regardless of the situation.  He was loving and supportive, and as his children grew up, they stayed close with him and their parental relationship transitioned into a deep friendship as well as a family bond. 

Ron is survived by his wife Gloria, whom he has been with for 52 years, married for 48 of them; his children Lisa Hall, Ronald Crabtree Jr, Debra Navarro, Robert Crabtree, and Dawn Doroteo; his sister Ann Arnett; his brothers Earl Crabtree Jr and Dillard Crabtree; many friends including Ron Colgate, Timothy Lewis, Paul "Moose" Saunders, and Bill Shanks; 38 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. 

Ron is preceded in passing by his parents, Earl and Hazel Crabtree; and 11 siblings.

Funeral Services for Ron will be 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Fountain Square Cremation and Funeral Services.  Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until the hour of service.

Additional Visitation hours will be on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Hickman Strunk Funeral Home, 156 Main St, Whitley City, KY 42653.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM and burial will follow at the family cemetery in Pine Knot, KY.
