Robert "Bob" Earl Lyons Jr, 59, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017.  Bob was born in Springfield, MA on August 19, 1957 to the late Arlene (Hughs) and Robert Lyons Sr.  Bob was a genius, after skipping multiple grades he graduated high school at the age of 15.  He could build anything, and built his first engine at the age of 10.  In his later years he started putting together and fixing computers as a hobby.  He was interested in everything, a great lover of life.  He was always seeking out other knowledge and learning all he could.  He loved to read and absorbed everything like a sponge.  When he grew ill he even read up on his treatment and told the doctors what they needed to do to best care for him.  

Bob was a jokester, he loved to make people laugh and had a great sense of humor.  He could make a joke out of anything.  He loved wearing T-shirts with funny sayings on them, and showing them off to his family and friends.  He was very athletic, he liked to play sports.  He enjoyed basketball and took karate with his son Robert Jr, going on to become a black belt.  In his younger days he joined a bowling league with his brother Terry.  He was an animal lover and a proud dog dad.  

Bob's greatest joy in life was his family.  He was married to the love of his life, Marie (Roch) Lyons for 41 years as of July.  He loved being a dad and he adored being a grandpa.  He loved being with his grandchildren.  He cared deeply about people.  You could always count on him to help, and he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed.  He was a dad to his whole neighborhood and you could always count on him to give you good advice.  He loved helping people, and you could count on him for anything.  He was always concerned about everyone else, and less concerned with himself.  He was a once in a lifetime person, and he will be greatly missed. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Marie; his children Robert Jr and wife Tab, Lisa and husband Ernie, Carrie and husband Spencer, and Terry; his grandchildren, Lil Bob, Nate, Mikey, Kyle, Johnathon, Gage, Jasper, Lil Spense, Tyler, Ashley, Becky, and Lil Ernie; his siblings Terry and Diane; many friends; and his beloved dogs.

Funeral Service for Bob will be 7 PM, Friday, August 11, 2017 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  Visitation will be from 3 PM until the hour of service.
