Melody Carol (Scamahorn) Booker

Melody Carol Booker, 71, of Greenwood, passed away on Thursday April 25, 2019, after a 9 year battle with cancer. 

Melody was born in Lebanon, IN on July 8, 1947 to Eugene and Ruth (Lutes) Scamahorn.  Melody was great with numbers, a skill she turned into a career as she was a book keeper for many years.    She enjoyed playing board games and especially cards.  She liked to travel, anywhere really.  One of her favorite things to do was to load her kids up in the car and just take off, no specific destination in mind, just wherever fancy took her.  She was a history buff, and also enjoyed reading.  She watched football, the Colts naturally being her favorite time.  Melody loved her family, and doted on her grandson.  She always looked forward to going to her grandson's sporting events and cheering him on. 

Melody is survived by her children Angela (Scott) Booker Kummerow, John Booker Jr, and William (Jessika) Booker; her grandchild Austyn; her siblings Tom Scamahorn and Maryanne Christmas; and a special thank you to the Deck family for all of their love and friendship.

Melody is preceded in passing by her husband, John Booker Sr; her parents Eugene and Ruth Scamahorn; and her brother Russ Scamahorn. 

A memorial service will be held on a later date at the family's convenience.
