John Harold Curtis stepped from this life into the next into the arms of the Lord and all those he had lost in his life as the sun rose on November 24, 2019. He was surrounded and held close by his family and his special angels as he let go.
Dad lived a long and hard 77 years and fought till the very end during his short battle with cancer. Dad proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1968 during which time he sailed around the world and spent several of those years fighting in Vietnam. He always said he was never happier than when he was on his ship, the USS Talladega. Dad was a sailor and a navy man till the end.
Remaining behind to think of him and laugh through the heartache and never ending tears at all the stories and memories he gave us are his cherished grandchildren Cree, Callie, and Emma, his 2 daughters Mary and Mindy, the love of his life, Linda, and 4 of his closest and beloved cousins. Reflecting the simple and straight forward life he lived, dad will be honored with a small private family viewing and will be given military honors on Wednesday November 28, 2019.
