Joey Wayne Johnson, 60, of Fountain Square, formerly of Morgantown, KY passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
Joey was born in Morgantown, KY on April 4, 1959 to Vermont and Virginia Johnson. He was self-employeed by trade as a dry wall hanger. He had an outstanding work ethic, a value he was sure to impart to his children. He did work with both Raymond Duke and Bob Young. He loved classic country music, fishing, and hunting. He was a vehicle enthusiast and always seemed to have a different one every week.
Joey had a big heart, he loved everyone and everyone loved him. He was the type of person who made friends as easily as breathing, and loving came just as easy too. He was never serious, and no one knew whether to take what he said at value or not. He kept his sense of humor till the end, never letting circumstance get him down. He wanted to take care of everyone, especially his family. He was always the go-to for help or advice. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a fabulous husband.
Joey is survived by his wife, Cynthia Johnson; his sons Jason Johnson and Joshua Johnson; his daughters Sabrina (Steve) Todd and Ashley Johnson; his stepdaughter Christy (Brian) Crabtree; his brothers Jerry, Teddy, and Jackie; his sisters Judy and Nila; 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Joey is preceded in passing by his parents, Vermont and Virginia; his brother Tuttie; his sister Frances; and his dog Blackjack.
