Herschel was born in Mooresville, IN on February 21, 1949, to Willie and Merle (King) Huff. He was a truck driver and a security officer for many years before retiring. He loved to bowl and was on a league for a bit, on a team called "Phar from Bowling". He liked to be outside, fishing and cooking out - always steaks. Prior to its closing, Ryans was his favorite restaurant. He enjoyed traveling and going places. Herschel collected guns, and often tried to keep pace with his granddaughter Samantha for who had the best one. He loved his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren, and was forever wanting to spend more time with them and spoiling them rotten. His favorite sports team was the Colts. Herschel was a great man, a loving husband, a caring father, a fun grandfather, and a great friend. He took care of everyone.
Herschel is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patricia (Bowers) Huff; his children Earl Michael Edward Huff, Tracey Huff, Tammy Huff, Michael Huff, Lewis Bowers, Marvin Bowers, Debbie DeBlase, and Melode (Eli) Bowers; his grandchildren Samantha, Mike, Johnny, Jacob, Joshua, Joann, Jewel, Lewis, Charles, Angela, Marvin, Tammy, Michelle, Melissa, Donald, Chris, Molly, Jessica, Brad, and John; and 29 great-grandchildren.
