Ellen Marie Allen, 69, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017.  Ellen was born on October 14, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Thomas A and Rosemarie F (Beck) Terhune.  Family was the most important thing to Ellen, and she dedicated her life to raising hers.  She adored being a grandma, and a great-grandma.  She loved horses, cats, dogs, and deer.  She often talked about the deer she could see from the lounge, and could watch them all day.  She loved board games,  She could crochet.  She was afraid of water and wouldn't go near any large bodies of it, a trait she inherited from her mother.  Ellen was an excellent cook, and liked making salmon patties.  Her favorite restaurant was Church's Chicken.  

Ellen is survived by her children, Thomas Allen, Barbara Harrison, and David Allen; her six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings Leroy Terhune and Doraine Carroll; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her parents she is preceded in passing by her sister Portia. 

Funeral Services for Ellen will be 12 PM Noon, Friday, May 5th, 2017 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  Visitation will be from 3 PM - 7 PM, Thursday, May 4th, at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery after the Services on Friday.
