Edward John Alberts, age 94, born on July 14, 1922, a resident of Indianapolis passed away on June 5, 2017 in Beech Grove Meadows in Beech Grove, Indiana.  Edward went to be home with the Lord very peacefully, surrounded by his two daughters at his bedside.  He was preceded in passing by his beloved wife Gladys Alberts. 

Edward was a soldier in the US Army and served his country during WWII.  He worked and retired from American General Corporation.  Edward was a very caring person with a big heart.  He loved to laugh and live life to it's fullest.  His family was his world.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Brenda Shrum, her husband Chris Shrum, and Sharon Alberts; his grandchildren Chris Shrum II, wife Leia Shrum; and great-grandchildren Cheyenne Shrum and Emma Kraus.

Funeral Services for Edward will be 1 PM, Friday, June 9, 2017 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  Visitation will be from 11 AM until the hour of service.  Burial with full military honors will be at 2PM at Memorial Park Cemetery.
