Edna Pretch-Fadely, 70, of Greenfield, formerly of Balitmore, Maryland, passed away on August 3, 2018.
Edna was born in Baltimore, Maryland on July 27, 1948. Edna grew up on a small operation farm complete with dairy cows, pigs, and chickens. She liked the rural way of life. She enjoyed hobby farming. Most of her hobbies revolved around nature. She had a green thumb and often her house more resembled a greenhouse it was so thick with wall-to-wall plants. She grew a garden and canned her own food.
Edna was always ahead of her time, she liked surfing the internet before it was popular. She loved movies. She was very talented and creative. Her talents included sewing, drawing, writing, and painting. She was recently getting into acrylic painting and she enjoyed taking drawing classes with her companion Edith. She was always up to trying new things and broadening her horizons.
Edna liked to move, she enjoyed road trips and traveling by car. She loved jewelry and nice clothes, with purses being her favorite accessory. Edna loved experimenting with her hair and makeup, although every fall her hair changed with the leaves and she took on some shade of red. She was a gifted dancer and knew all the old time swing dances, which made her a very popular partner.
Edna loved animals, and her favorite pets were her fish and her cats. Her cat Thomas was the most ornery she had, he was an old farm cat she took in. He loved antagonizing Edna by knocking over her plants. He also tried to take care of her, and would often smack live mice into her lap trying to make sure she was fed, in true cat fashion.
Edna adored her family. She was loving, but strong willed and hard-headed. She was never afraid to speak her mind, but she was also open to other’s opinions. She had a capricious nature and was often unpredictable with her temper, but she was loyal and passionate.
Edna is survived by her companion Edith Nichols; her children Michelle Marie Moore-Wampler and Phillip Fadely; her acquired children Erica Nichols Salmon and Charlie Knichols; her grandchildren Elizabeth Knoblock, Andrew Wampler, Sarah Wampler, Zachary Fadely, and Kara Fadely; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Edna is preceded in passing by her daughter Lisa Lynn Moore; and her cats Lynx and Thomas.
A Memorial Service for Edna will be 1 PM, Friday, August 10, 2018. Friends and family are invited to visit from 11 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memory Gardens.
