Donald R. Herrell, age 67, of Trafalger, passed away in his home on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from complications of renal failure.

Don was born on January 3, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. His parents and brother preceded him in death. Don graduated from Arlington High School and Ivy Tech, an dserved as a Marine in Vietnam.  He worked most of his life in the blood and plasma industry. He was a member of Trafalgar United Methodist Church.

Don loved doing bicycling tours, bow hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, holiday celebrations, music, his dachshund and chihuahuas, his church family and fellowship with AA and Salvation Army.

Survivors include wife Ronda (Novak) Herrell; son, Christopher Herrell; daughter-in-law to be Peggy Crowthers; chosen daughter, SImone Hamilton; and chosen grandchildren Pyper, Conner, and Abraham.

A Celebration of Life will be officiated by Dr. Ben Greenbaum on Friday, July 7 at 10:30 AM at the Trafalgar United Methodist Church.

Don requested in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the humane society.
