Daniel "Danny" Floyd West

Daniel "Danny" Floyd West II, 64, of Indianapolis, formerly of Beech Grove, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

Danny was born in Beech Grove, IN on November 3, 1953 to Daniel Floyd Sr and Florence Bell (Morrison) West.  He worked best with his hands, and spoke machine.  He was a machinist for many years.  He loved working on cars and going for long drives.  He also liked NASCAR and the Indy 500.  The Bears and the Colts were his favorite football teams. He enjoyed going out to eat.  Danny liked fishing catch and release style.   

Danny was a jokester and a prankster.  He was funny, even when his jokes weren't.  He loved popping up and scaring people when they least expected it.  He was also a very compassionate and caring person, the type of person to give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  He always made sure everyone around him was taken care of.  He was a sucker for strays, and most of his dogs found him, rather than him finding them.   Family was always his number one priority.  He retired in 2000 to take care of his mother when she fell ill.  He adored his grandchildren, he loved spending time with them and wrestling around.  He liked cooking with his wife Marilyn.  Danny was the official mashed potato maker of the family, and the official taster for Thanksgiving dressing, deviled eggs, and turkey.  Come Christmas he was also the official ham taster as well.  He was a hell of a nice guy, a loving husband, a good father, and an adoring grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Danny is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Welch) West; his children Nicole and Misty; his grandchildren James Vicario, Kaitlynn Everidge, Daniel Vicario, Steven Everidge, and Destiny Vicario; his great-grandson Silas; his son-in-law Steve Vicario; and the father of his Everidge grandchildren, Steven Everidge.

Danny is preceded in passing by his parents.

Funeral Services for Danny will be 2 PM, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services.  Visitation will be 3-7 PM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the services Wednesday at Washington Park East.
