Albert Burton Sr, 70, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 14, 2019.
Albert was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 8, 1949, to Ernest and Laura (Holding) Burton. Albert served proudly in the Army and was a Vietnam Vet. He was very patriotic and loved his country. After his service he went on to work construction and masonry. He had a strong work ethic and worked hard to provide for his family. His favorite hobby was woodworking, and he was very creative. He also enjoyed working on cars and cooking. Cookouts with his family were one of his favorite past times. He was a take-charge, strong man as well as a loving husband and a good father and grandfather. He was always willing to teach and pass on his knowledge, and was the go-to guy in the family.
Albert is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mona (Honeycutt) Burton; his children Geneva Faubion, Tammra Burton, Albert (Amanda) Burton Jr; his grandchildren Heather (Adam) Sexton, Joshua Grever, Victoria Faubion, Nicholas Faubion, Cameron Burton, Alexis Burton, Logan Burton, Isaiah Pope, Jalen Smith, Emma Burton, and Albert Burton III; his great-grandchildren Geneva, Adam, Arianna, Kayden, and Rayvha; his sisters Alberta Jensen and Theresa Balwinski; his brothers William Burton and Von Burton; and many many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Albert is preceded in passing by his parents, Ernest and Laura Burton; his grandson Douglas Murray; his sisters Frances Burton, Katheryn Foster, Goldie Maietta, Leoda Merriman, Laura Pickering, and twin infants whom passed at birth; and his brothers James Burton and Robert Burton.
Funeral Services for Albert will be 12 PM Noon, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be from 3-6 PM, Monday, August 19, at the funeral home. An additional visitation will be from 11 AM to the hour of service on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Crown Hill.
