John Denton Willoughby, 47, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 25, 2024. Born on January 30, 1977, in Indianapolis, John was the son of Jerry and Sandra (McDonald) Willoughby. He dedicated many years to the construction industry, where his hard work and dedication left his mark.
John found peace in simple pleasures, particularly fishing, a pastime he cherished, especially when shared with his son Zachary during Zach's younger years. His hands were always busy, his heart always generous. Acts of service were his love language, whether it was constructing a pen for his daughter Sabrina's dogs or mending a roof; he found fulfillment in helping others.
The charm of Florida and its sandy shores held a special place in John's heart. He often spoke of returning to its embrace, drawn by the calming rhythm of the waves. Country music was the soundtrack of his life, and "Hey Google, play country music" was a familiar saying forever echoing through the walls.
Above all, John was a devoted family man, finding joy and fulfillment in the company of his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children Sabrina (Andrew Hodge) White and Zachary Willoughby, his cherished grandchildren Gracie White and James Hodge, his father Jerry Willoughby, and his siblings Mark, Anthony, Matthew, Summer, Autumn Willoughby, and Miranda Linde, His loyal companions, Peaches and Daisy, will also miss his presence dearly, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in passing by his mother Sandra.
In the hearts of those who knew him, John Denton Willoughby will forever be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering dedication to his loved ones, and the simple joys he found in life's everyday moments. May he rest in peace, forever embraced by the love of those who held him dear.
