James "Jimmy" Edward McGarr, 63, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 29, 2024. Born in Indianapolis, IN on April 7, 1960, to Earl and Beverly (Creamer) McGarr, Jimmy leaves behind a memories of individuality and determination.
Jimmy was a character like no other; his stubbornness was legendary, outclassing that of a mule. Yet, beneath his ornery exterior, he had a good heart. He lived life on his own terms, unapologetically embracing his passions. Music, particularly classic rock, held a special place in his life, reflecting his rebellious spirit. A staunch IU fan, Jimmy engaged in many debates with his brothers about the superiority of their respective teams.
Despite his strong-willed nature, Jimmy possessed a quiet faith, steadfast but never ostentatious. His departure leaves a void, a reminder of life's unpredictability. Yet, we take solace in knowing that he now rests in peace, reunited with the Lord.
Jimmy is survived by his brothers Ronald McGarr and Allen McGarr; his sisters Teresa (Tim) Esteb, Tracey (Mike) Alcorn, and Mary Ann (Rick) Smith; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services to honor Jimmy's life will be held at 6 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Fountain Square Cremation & Funeral Services. Visitation will be held from 2 PM until the hour of service. In this time of mourning, let us remember Jimmy for the unique individual he was and the memories he leaves behind.
