Alice Faye Horn, aged 68, passed away on April 7, 2024. Born in La Porte, IN on September 11, 1955, she was the daughter of Layton and Virginia "Jinny" Engle.
Alice possessed an unparalleled work ethic, a trait that defined her throughout her life. Recognizing the value of education, she tirelessly pursued her GED in the 2000s, seizing every opportunity to advance her career. Her dedication led her to various occupations, but it was her role at Vitek that held a special place in her heart. There, she contributed to the production of instruments for NASA and astronauts, a source of immense pride for her.
Fearless and outspoken, Alice never hesitated to express her thoughts, though her words could sometimes be sharp. Yet, beneath her tough exterior lay a heart overflowing with love for her grandchildren. Her devotion to them knew no bounds.
Alice excelled in bowling, achieving remarkable feats on the lanes. Her skill was unmatched as she bowled a perfect game, conquered the daunting 7/10 split, and amassed significant prize winnings. Bowling wasn't just a hobby for Alice; it was a beloved family tradition that she joyfully passed down to her daughters.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Jody; her grandchildren, Nathan, Dominick, Damian, and Savannah; her brother, Jerry; and her sister, Sue. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jenny; her father Layton; her daughter, Jennifer; her brother Terry; and her longtime companion, Don Carter.
