Max Grant Graham Sr

January 13, 1949 ~ November 27, 2017 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Max Grant Graham Sr, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away November 27, 2017.

Max was born in Indianapolis, IN on January 13, 1949 to the late Francis Eugene and NeVada Lucille (Chadwick) Graham.  He was incredibly smart, and liked to learn.  After obtaining his Bachelors from IUPUI in Liberal Arts he went on to earn a Masters degree, and had aspirations to earn his Doctorate. Max loved a good debate, no matter the time nor the place.  He was a Fireman for 20 years and 6 months before retiring, and was very proud of the work he did.  After retiring he went on to teach at University of Indianapolis, forever committed to learning.  He was a very proud member of American Legion post 230, and in 2016 was the Commander in Chief of the Sons.  At one point he was a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts.  Max had a strong faith, and was a member of the First Baptist Church.  Above all he loved his family, and he loved being a grandfather.  He enjoyed teasing his grandchildren and giving them silly nicknames, that always seemed to stick.  He was a colorful man who liked things a particular way, and wasn't afraid to voice that way.  His stubbornness was legend.  He had a great sense of human, one that's carried on in his grandchildren.  He will be missed.

Max is survived by his children Max Jr (Susan) Graham, Kristin (Alex) McCarty, and Brian (Stacy) Graham; his grandchildren Clinton, Crucificio, Kyle, Olivia, Kailab "Bruno", Maura "George", Chelsea "Bob", and Brian Jr; his siblings Terri (Paul) Schreacke, Steve (Cheryl) Graham, Toni (Bill) Meeler, Robby (Ane) Graham, Tami (Tom Novak) Graham, and Tina (Larry) Stanesa; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Max is preceded in passing by his daughter Jennifer Bruce, who will meet again in Heaven.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Sunday, December 3, 2017 at American Legion Post 230, 701 E Morgan St, Martinsville, IN 46151.
